I haven't had any time to paint in the last year as I've been busy being a mother! My newly 1 year daughter is gaining more independence, her ability to play on her own is increasing, so I think that in the near future (a few months) I may be able to paint again! /cheer I thank you all for your continued support and appreciation of my art!

I just dropped by to let everyone know that I'm still around... just chasing after my 9 month old and that takes up 90% of my day. Here soon I hope to start painting again, once my little girl is more independent and doesn't take up all free time.

Happy New Year to everyone!

Where have I been? I've been busy trying to keep up with my 5 month old baby girl! She's a handful and the joy of my life! It's amazing to watch her learn and grow so fast.

Anyways, now that I have a working digital camera again, I have an updated shot of "Love Worth Dying For" and have posted it in the WIP page. I'm not to far away from completing the painting, but finding the time while juggling a baby is certainly a challenge!

It's amazing how fast time goes by when you are addicted to something. I put down my paintbrush to play an online game and suddenly 3 years of my life are gone. Yep, I am a former World of Warcraft player. It took becoming a mother-to-be and losing a family member to cancer to finally "wake" My Muse out of hibernation and begin painting again. Yep, I have finally rid myself of my computer game addiction and have taken up other hobbies to keep myself busy. I planted my first flower garden in May and I am learning the "art" of scrapbooking. Most exciting of all, I will become a Mother when my little girl arrives in August.

So, here I am, back on DA and I am painting again! I have to say, it feels great! Currently I am working on finishing my painting called "Love Worth Dying For", the fire and water elemental couple that I'm doing in watercolor. It's been "in progress" for the last couple of years and it will be the first of many paintings that I will finish soon!

I derive much of my inspiration & creativity from music, mythology, ancient history and classic literature. A few of the writers and artists that influence my imagination are: Homer, Sir Mallory, Dante Alighieri, the Renaissance artists, John Milton, Shakespeare, Bram Stoker, Mary Shelley, Edgar Allen Poe, William Blake, the Pre-Raphaelites, and Gustave Dore.

What I have posted here at Deviant is only a little of what I've done since I started my art career in 1995. After taking a "break" for the last five years, I am once again kicking my Muse into action. You can see most of my work and what's in development at my official website posted below, but I am going to start posting new stuff here as it developes.
